What a year indeed! I want to begin with an update on what’s been going on with Jonah. I haven’t posted anything since Jonah went in to have his feeding tube put in.
The feeding tube is working as advertised! Jonah’s last weigh in before getting the feeding tube was 12 lbs 1 oz. This week Jonah weighed in at 15 lbs 6.5 oz! Jonah has gained over 3 pounds in a little over 6 weeks which is astounding! We are definitely encouraged.
The other issue going on with Jonah right now is with his lungs. Last week we saw a pulmonologist to see if we could find out why Jonah is still on full-time oxygen. There seems to be increased blood flow in one of his lungs. Not really sure what that means yet, next week he will go in for a CAT scan which will hopefully give us some answers. Ever since he had RSV in January he has had the low oxygen saturation levels deeming it necessary for the full-time use of oxygen.
I can’t believe that it has already been a year since Jonah’s birth. 27 days in the NICU after birth. Open heart surgery at 11 weeks. A quarantined winter and oxygen tank at home after getting RSV. A feeding tube in March. Even though it feels as if this year has flown by it has been a tough year for our family. Alot of changes since Jonah’s birth – not bad changes or anything – just changes.
We celebrate Jonah’s birthday, with family, cake and presents—A happy, loving little boy who is cherished by his family!
Jonah may The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.
I look forward to the next year in front of us, knowing that God is with us whatever is thrown at us. Thank you Lord for Jonah Ananiah, he is a gift from God!
